Btm machine company was established in early 1980 through the desire, vision & personal investment of a courageous Mr. Tomasi to specialize in the manufacture of automatic horizontal bandsaws.
Btm now, under the guidance of the founding president, Tomasi, has established a worldwide reputation for building very reliable, very high performance machines that are the envy of the industry. But is not satisfied, they believe they can do better.
Mr. Tomasi has been relentless in his desire to make a company of world standing. Investment has never stopped: constant investment in product development & modern production equipment to meet their ever improving standards. Constant investment in top engineers & then further investment in additional training to keep these engineers abreast of the latest skills & trends in their industry. In this constant search for improvement. BTM presented the new band saw with a really futurist AUTOMATIC CUTTING PARAMETERS. The cutting speed and therefore the cutting feed must be set, in accordance with the data supplied from the producers of blades, in relation to the section and the type of material, and therefore it was necessary to set up the speed of the blade and the cutting feed correspondent to the maximum section of the material. That means during the cut of round material or profile the only moment with optimal parameters is in correspondence of the maximum section. BTM has been the first in the world, who introduced in the band-saw machines the automatic cutting parameter (1986) that they vary, moment for moment, the cutting speed and the cutting feed in relation to the section in job. They come therefore continuous variation during the cut is the speed of the blade that the cutting feed obtains three turns out a lot important : - remarkably reduced times of cut - Increasing blade life - surface of more uniform cut While programming the cutting cycle, the operator chooses the kind of material, the dimensions and profile. The display will present a list with the materials (written in UNI or in DIN references), a list of the profile of the material (round, rectangular, tubular, various sections, etc.) and will ask also about the length of the cut and about the number of the pcs for any length. The machine will choose automatically the best cutting information and will up-date them automatically during the cutting cycle, following the different required working processes. The speed of the blade and the feeding of the material will be automatically changed following the different working processes. For example: suppose that you have to cut a round in C45 with diameter of 300 mm. You choose on the list of the materials C45 – Round – diameter 300. At the beginning of the cutting process, the speed of the cutting will be 90/100 Mt/min and a feeding of 90mm/min. The speed of the cutting and of the feeding of the material will decrease by the centre of the round (Diameter 300) till joining a value of 65 Mt/min and of 30mm/min and after that will increase till joining the first values of the process by the end of the cutting. The same process will be used by the cutting of tubular and sections. Without the automatic support, you should program the whole cutting cycle with the maximum section (65Mt/min – 30 mm/min). Furthermore BTM is the sole that offer special cycles for materials that have a very high molecular tension (the cut closes itself during the cutting and block the blade, which should be broken for the substitution. With our special software automatically controlled, when the blade exceed in the effort, it comes out of the cut and enter again in it.
